Course Title
The Independent RDHAP Blueprint: From Concept to Clinic
Course Description
As dental hygienists explore opportunities beyond traditional clinical roles, independent practice models are becoming an increasingly viable pathway. However, transitioning from concept to implementation requires a clear understanding of business structures, regulatory requirements, operational systems, and patient acquisition strategies.
This course provides a comprehensive framework for dental hygienists interested in establishing an independent practice. Participants will examine foundational elements including selection of appropriate business entities, credentialing requirements such as NPI registration, and compliance considerations specific to alternative practice settings.
The program will compare brick-and-mortar and mobile delivery models, outlining logistical considerations such as lease agreements, clinical workflow design, and portable equipment needs. Operational topics will include billing and coding processes, risk management strategies, and documentation standards necessary to support legal and ethical practice.
Additionally, the course will introduce practical approaches to marketing and growth, with emphasis on identifying target patient populations and developing referral networks. Through structured instruction and applied examples, participants will gain the knowledge necessary to evaluate, plan, and begin the process of developing an independent dental hygiene practice.
